CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tracing: Have trace_event_file have ref counters
The following can crash the kernel:
# cd /sys/kernel/tracing
# echo 'p:sched schedule' > kprobe_events
# exec 5>>events/kprobes/sched/enable
# > kprobe_events
# exec 5>&-
The above commands:
1. Change directory to the tracefs directory
2. Create a kprobe event (doesn't matter what one)
3. Open bash file descriptor 5 on the enable file of the kprobe event
4. Delete the kprobe event (removes the files too)
5. Close the bash file descriptor 5
The above causes a crash!

CPU: 6 PID: 877 Comm: bash Not tainted 6.5.0-rc4-test-00008-g2c6b6b1029d4-dirty #186
Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (Q35 + ICH9, 2009), BIOS 1.16.2-debian-1.16.2-1 04/01/2014
RIP: 0010:tracing_release_file_tr+0xc/0x50
What happens here is that the kprobe event creates a trace_event_file
"file" descriptor that represents the file in tracefs to the event. It
maintains state of the event (is it enabled for the given instance?).
Opening the "enable" file gets a reference to the event "file" descriptor
via the open file descriptor. When the kprobe event is deleted, the file is
also deleted from the tracefs system which also frees the event "file"
descriptor.
But as the tracefs file is still opened by user space, it will not be
totally removed until the final dput() is called on it. But this is not
true with the event "file" descriptor that is already freed. If the user
does a write to or simply closes the file descriptor it will reference the
event "file" descriptor that was just freed, causing a use-after-free bug.
To solve this, add a ref count to the event "file" descriptor as well as a
new flag called "FREED". The "file" will not be freed until the last
reference is released. But the FREE flag will be set when the event is
removed to prevent any more modifications to that event from happening,
even if there's still a reference to the event "file" descriptor. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
spi: spi-zynqmp-gqspi: return -ENOMEM if dma_map_single fails
The spi controller supports 44-bit address space on AXI in DMA mode,
so set dma_addr_t width to 44-bit to avoid using a swiotlb mapping.
In addition, if dma_map_single fails, it should return immediately
instead of continuing doing the DMA operation which bases on invalid
address.
This fixes the following crash which occurs in reading a big block
from flash:
[ 123.633577] zynqmp-qspi ff0f0000.spi: swiotlb buffer is full (sz: 4194304 bytes), total 32768 (slots), used 0 (slots)

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ARM: footbridge: fix PCI interrupt mapping
Since commit 30fdfb929e82 ("PCI: Add a call to pci_assign_irq() in
pci_device_probe()"), the PCI code will call the IRQ mapping function
whenever a PCI driver is probed. If these are marked as __init, this
causes an oops if a PCI driver is loaded or bound after the kernel has
initialised. |
| DragonflyDB Dragonfly before 1.27.0 allows authenticated users to cause a denial of service (daemon crash) via a crafted Redis command. The validity of the scan cursor was not checked. |
| flask-session-captcha is a package which allows users to extend Flask by adding an image based captcha stored in a server side session. In versions prior to 1.2.1, he `captcha.validate()` function would return `None` if passed no value (e.g. by submitting an having an empty form). If implementing users were checking the return value to be **False**, the captcha verification check could be bypassed. Version 1.2.1 fixes the issue. Users can workaround the issue by not explicitly checking that the value is False. Checking the return value less explicitly should still work. |
| The KVM subsystem in the Linux kernel through 4.2.6, and Xen 4.3.x through 4.6.x, allows guest OS users to cause a denial of service (host OS panic or hang) by triggering many #DB (aka Debug) exceptions, related to svm.c. |
| The web browser on the Sony PLAYSTATION 3 (PS3) allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption and console hang) via a large integer value for the length property of a Select object, a related issue to CVE-2009-1692. |
| D-Link DIR-823G A1V1.0.2B05 was discovered to contain Null-pointer dereferences in sub_4484A8(). This vulnerability allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via a crafted input. |
| drivers/media/usb/dvb-usb-v2/lmedm04.c in the Linux kernel through 4.13.11 allows local users to cause a denial of service (general protection fault and system crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted USB device, related to a missing warm-start check and incorrect attach timing (dm04_lme2510_frontend_attach versus dm04_lme2510_tuner). |
| A vulnerability in the Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) decoder of the Cisco NetFlow Generation Appliance (NGA) with software before 1.1(1a) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause the device to hang or unexpectedly reload, causing a denial of service (DoS) condition. The vulnerability is due to incomplete validation of SCTP packets being monitored on the NGA data ports. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending malformed SCTP packets on a network that is monitored by an NGA data port. SCTP packets addressed to the IP address of the NGA itself will not trigger this vulnerability. An exploit could allow the attacker to cause the appliance to become unresponsive or reload, causing a DoS condition. User interaction could be needed to recover the device using the reboot command from the CLI. The following Cisco NetFlow Generation Appliances are vulnerable: NGA 3140, NGA 3240, NGA 3340. Cisco Bug IDs: CSCvc83320. |
| Huawei Oceanstor 5800 before V300R002C10SPC100 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption) via a large number of crafted HTTP packets. |
| A vulnerability in the DHCP client implementation of Cisco IOS (12.2, 12.4, and 15.0 through 15.6) and Cisco IOS XE (3.3 through 3.7) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition. The vulnerability occurs during the parsing of a crafted DHCP packet. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted DHCP packets to an affected device that is configured as a DHCP client. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause a reload of an affected device, resulting in a DoS condition. This vulnerability affects Cisco devices that are running a vulnerable release of Cisco IOS or IOS XE Software and using a specific DHCP client configuration. Cisco Bug IDs: CSCuu43892. |
| In all Qualcomm products with Android releases from CAF using the Linux kernel, when downloading a file, an excessive amount of memory may be consumed. |
| The eepro100 emulator in QEMU qemu-kvm blank allows local guest users to cause a denial of service (application crash and infinite loop) via vectors involving the command block list. |
| Multiple memory leaks in the caption and label handling code in ImageMagick allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via unspecified vectors. |
| The RESTful control interface (aka RAPI or ganeti-rapi) in Ganeti before 2.9.7, 2.10.x before 2.10.8, 2.11.x before 2.11.8, 2.12.x before 2.12.6, 2.13.x before 2.13.3, 2.14.x before 2.14.2, and 2.15.x before 2.15.2, when used in SSL mode, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (resource consumption) via SSL parameter renegotiation. |
| A vulnerability in the web user interface of Cisco IOS XE 3.1 through 3.17 could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause an affected device to reload. The vulnerability is due to insufficient resource handling by the affected software when the web user interface is under a high load. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a high number of requests to the web user interface of the affected software. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the affected device to reload, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition. To exploit this vulnerability, the attacker must have access to the management interface of the affected software, which is typically connected to a restricted management network. This vulnerability affects Cisco devices that are running a vulnerable release of Cisco IOS XE Software, if the web user interface of the software is enabled. By default, the web user interface is not enabled. Cisco Bug IDs: CSCup70353. |
| The HMAC implementation (crypto/hmac.c) in the Linux kernel before 4.14.8 does not validate that the underlying cryptographic hash algorithm is unkeyed, allowing a local attacker able to use the AF_ALG-based hash interface (CONFIG_CRYPTO_USER_API_HASH) and the SHA-3 hash algorithm (CONFIG_CRYPTO_SHA3) to cause a kernel stack buffer overflow by executing a crafted sequence of system calls that encounter a missing SHA-3 initialization. |
| The semver package before 4.3.2 for Node.js allows attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption) via a long version string, aka a "regular expression denial of service (ReDoS)." |
